| Description | Provides financial assistance for food, clothing, shelter * Emergency Assistance for medical, dental, optical needs and other emergency items; burial of indigents; assistance with heat and hydro disconnects * Family Support Unit helps sole support parents seek support payments from spouses * Learning, Earning and Parenting Program (LEAP) helps parents 16-25 years obtain high school diploma, develop educational and employment goals and improve parenting skills; mandatory for parents 16-17 years in receipt of Ontario Works * Counselling Collaborative Program: partnership between Region of Waterloo and seven counselling agencies to provide up to 8 counselling sessions | ||
